In 2012 Blackstar Handling Systems supplied a material handling system to Tyne Tees Packaging based in the North East of England to transport finished product through the Strapper into the warehouse.
Since installation in 2012, the solution has proved to be incredibly reliable and the customer has incurred no downtime or breakdowns from the system.
Tyne Tees Packaging have continued to expand and space in the existing factory became an issue. So when an opportunity arose to move to a much larger factory across the road they snapped up the chance.
This involved uplifting all the existing machines and re-siting them as quickly as possible whilst maintaining production to supply customers- A huge undertaking.
As part of the expansion Tyne Tees Packaging also invested in state of the art new converting equipment.
This led to a large increase in throughput of product and hence the finished goods system needed to be expanded and modified to suit the new factory layout.
Blackstar Handling Systems worked closely with Tyne Tees Packaging in designing the best layout for the converting machines to suit the new factory.
Detailed factory layouts were prepared to optimise the space available and allow for further investment in the future.
Once prepared Blackstar Handling Systems could design an appropriate finished goods system to deliver completed pallets for dispatch.
As a result Blackstar Handling Systems received an order for an extensive pallet handling system for the new factory.
Blackstar Handling Systems completed the project including the repositioning and reconfiguring of the existing equipment form the old factory.
The equipment being supplied by Blackstar Handling Systems includes turn units, conveyors, a gravity decline conveyor, fencing, light guards, and fork truck barriers. All equipment was manufactured, installed and controlled by Blackstar Handling Systems.
The full system was installed and commissioned in October 2014 on time and on time to coincide with the start-up of the new case-makers.
All of Blackstar Handling Systems supplied equipment is fully modular using quality propriety parts from suppliers such as- SEW, Nord, SICK, RHP, Siemens, Allen Bradley, Telemechaneque, with electrical devices pre-fitted.
Equipment is supplied powder coated in any Standard RAL or BS colour.
