Following an original investment by e-Corrugated of £1.2 million, at the heart of the initial investment is a new two colour EMBA 170 Casemaker, a new pallet strapper and a full pallet handling system supplied by Blackstar Handling Systems.
Blackstar Handling Systems supplied the pallet handling equipment to transport completed work from the casemaker through the strapper and out for dispatch.
e.Corrugated continued the planned investment and ordered a second Emba Casemaker, which involved a large extension to the Blackstar Handling Systems conveyor equipment.
The original handling equipment had to be extended and re-sited and the new outfeed from the Emba linked into the system.
This involved supplying additional turn units and quite a few pockets of powered roller conveyors and modular belt conveyors.
An additional gravity in-feed system was supplied for the delivery of pallets by Fork Lift Truck. It also involved Messersi UK supplying a new Rotary Arm Stretch Wrapper.
As the Blackstar Handling Systems supplied equipment is modular, moving and integrating new equipment to form a new system is relatively straightforward hence reducing costs and downtime for e.Corrugated.
The project was completed working closely with the customer and Engineers from Blackstar Handling Systems was available as the new Emba came into production. A bar code system was installed by Blackstar Handling Systems to communicate with the strapper to either apply the required strap pattern or divert the pallet for stretch wrapping.
The Blackstar Handling Systems range of pallet conveyors includes turn units and bi-directional conveyors, centralizers, pallet dispensers, modular belt conveyors, shuttle cars and transfer cars which are all usually line-shaft driven. If required chain driven conveyors can also be supplied. On all systems Blackstar Handling Systems can supply all electrical control, delivery and installation.
